Lima Aier Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, Nagaland, is looking for an experienced and dedicated School Headmistress to lead and strengthen the academic and administrative development of the school.

The Role
The School Headmistress will provide leadership in the academic, pastoral, and day-to-day functioning of the school, working closely with the school leadership and teaching staff.
The successful candidate will be expected to lead with professionalism, integrity, and a genuine commitment to the development of students and teachers.
The role will include a particular focus on strengthening teaching and learning, supporting teachers, maintaining academic standards, and ensuring a safe, disciplined, and nurturing school environment.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Provide effective academic and administrative leadership across the school.
- Work closely with teachers to maintain and improve standards of teaching and learning.
- Monitor curriculum delivery, lesson planning, assessment, and student progress.
- Support teachers through regular guidance, feedback, and professional development.
- Establish clear academic expectations and ensure that school policies and procedures are consistently followed.
- Promote a positive culture of discipline, responsibility, respect, and accountability.
- Monitor student attendance, behaviour, academic progress, and overall wellbeing.
- Build strong and constructive relationships with students, parents, teachers, and the wider school community.
- Conduct and oversee staff meetings, academic reviews, and other school programmes.
- Work with teachers to identify areas for improvement and implement appropriate strategies.
- Encourage innovative and effective approaches to classroom teaching and learning.
- Support the planning and execution of school events, examinations, activities, and programmes.
- Maintain effective communication between the school leadership, teachers, students, and parents.
- Ensure that the school environment remains safe, orderly, inclusive, and conducive to learning.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the school’s academic vision and long-term goals.
- Undertake other responsibilities as reasonably required by the school leadership.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for an experienced educator who combines strong academic leadership with empathy, discipline, and sound judgement.
The ideal candidate should be able to inspire teachers, connect meaningfully with students, communicate confidently with parents, and work collaboratively with the school leadership.
Essential Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in school education.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching and/or academic leadership.
- Experience working with teachers, students, and parents in a school environment.
- Strong understanding of curriculum planning, assessment, and academic administration.
Preferred Experience
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- Proven leadership experience in established educational institutions.
- Experience in a senior academic or school leadership position.
- Experience in developing and strengthening academic systems.
- Experience in teacher mentoring, supervision, and professional development.
- Experience working with younger learners and primary-level education.
Educational Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)
- Master’s degree in Education (M.Ed.) or an equivalent relevant qualification
Additional Qualifications
An additional certification or diploma in Child Development, Montessori Education, or Early Childhood Education will be an advantage.
