Boarding

Boarding Life

Boarding takes in boys and girls from all countries and cultures, from classes 1 to 12. Boarding life at LAHSS sets out to create a safe, caring, and supportive environment for all students, emphasizing pastoral support. This approach Contributes effectively to the school’s aim to provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to live their lives as an empathetic global citizen, teaching responsibility, and encouraging group contribution. It is very much in tune with the 21st-century lifestyle.

The Three Boarding Houses at LAHSS provide the bedrock upon which supported independence and youthful fellowship can be built. Students learn to treat each other and all community members with kindness, sensitivity, and respect. The boarding environment encourages a deep sense of community. It helps develop friendships and social skills, independence, and understanding that will be sustained and, in turn, be sustained in life beyond the school.

There is a family atmosphere in the houses, comfortable communal areas, morning and evening devotions every day and Sunday services to help them grow spiritually. The Chaplain takes care of all the services.

House Parents look after the well-being of each student and guide them in studies and in all-around development of the child.

STUDY HOUR

We are conscious that the main reason parents send their precious children far from home is that they may get the best education possible. For this reason, academics are our primary concern. Morning, evening, and night study hours are supervised by house parents and teachers daily. After 9 p.m., boarders are allowed extra hours of unsupervised study in their respective dorms. Extra tuition is arranged for boarders who need additional help with any subject.
