History

Lima Aier Higher Secondary School is a co-educational Christ-centered school established in 1991 with 80 students and 7 staffs. Today the school has over 1000 students with 80 staff.

The school is named after late Shri Lima Aier IAS, who had a noble vision and dedicated his life for the interest of the people. He died on 5th September 1988

The school is founded and managed by Imtila Aier and her family members with a deep sense of commitment to nurture growth in all four dimensions of human personality: Mental, Physical, Social, and Spiritual. As they mature into responsible citizens, they will live spiritually, serve effectively, impact the world positively, and become a channel of blessing to the world.

A brief sketch of Lima Aier, IAS

Lima Aier was born in the year 1931. He is the eldest son of Rev. Subong Aier of Mopongchuket village.

During his schooling days, he secured Top No. 1 position in class VI under Nagaland Board Examination. The then Headmaster of Govt. High School Mokokchung, Lt. Mayangnokcha declared double promotion for Lima Aier. This brought great laurels to the school, family and the village. Later on he studied in St.Edmunds College, Shillong and Scottish Church College, Calcutta.

After graduation, he served as an administrative officer to the Government of Nagaland. Further he was inducted into I.A.S and served the Government of Nagaland for 33 years in various capacities as DC. Dimapur, DC. Kohima, Commissioner Taxation of Excise and finally retired in 1987. He died on the 5th of September 1988 at the age of 57 years.

He was a visionary leader and an agent of change who had a great desire to reach out to the younger generations and contributed immensely in the field of education and worked towards the upliftment of various strata of the society.
